On 1 February 1981, during a One-Day International Cricket match between Australia and New Zealand, a controversial event took place that has become known as the 'underarm incident'. During the final ball of the match, Australian bowler Trevor Chappell rolled the ball along the ground instead of bowling overarm. He did this on the orders of his older brother and team captain, Greg Chappell, to prevent the New Zealand batter, Brian McKechnie, from scoring the required six runs to tie the match. A
