LNER Great Northern Railway Directors Saloon. The LNER (London and North Eastern Railway) and its predecessor, the Great Northern Railway (GNR), had a Directors' Saloon, built in 1897, that is now preserved on the Bluebell Railway. This coach, numbered 706E (later 43909), was used by GNR/LNER directors and later by the British Railways Eastern Region General Manager until 1969. It is owned by the E.F.
