The thunderstorm warning covers a large number of areas in Strathclyde including Argyll and Bute, East Ayr shire, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrew shire, Glasgow, Inverclyde, North [ [ Ayr ]]shire, North Lanarkshire, [ [Renfrew]]shire, South [ [Ayr]]shire, South Lanarkshire, and West Dunbartonshire.

It warns that heavy showers and scattered thunderstorms may cause some 'localised flooding and transport disruption'

The Met Office predicts that there is a "very low likelihood" of thunderstorms but a medium impact if they do hit - making it a yellow warning. Amber warnings are made when there is a higher likelihood and impact and red alerts - the most serious - are only made when forecaster predict a the highest impact and likelihood of adverse conditions.
