As per the promise of Marvel Rivals getting a new hero every month, the second half of Season 1 will bring players two new heroes: the Human Torch and The Thing. These new champions will be available to play in a couple of days, but before they're released into the wild, we got a sneak peek at what these characters can do, and it's pretty scary.

Human Torch will debut in Marvel Rivals on Feb. 21 alongside his Fantastic Four buddy, The Thing. Johnny will have a unique ultimate team-up with Storm, but players came up with another (better) team-up idea for the X-Men member.

In a seemingly unprecedented situation, hyper-engaged Marvel Rivals players are already calling for a nerf to Human Torch's high-flying, flame-slinging abilities, despite the character not even being added to the game until tomorrow, 21st February, alongside Ben "The Thing" Grimm.

There’s a silver lining though, as Iron Man’s Hyper-Velocity is still one of the best mobility abilities in the game and has very little cooldown. It allows the superhero to reposition quickly while getting targeted, something that Human Torch might struggle with as he doesn’t have a quick getaway tool in his kit.
