Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE:TSM) will invest $100B in the U.S. over the next four years as the company looks to boost its presence in the U.S, President Trump will say at an event on Monday, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing plans to invest $100 billion to build out chip-making facilities in the U.S., according to people familiar with the matter. The company intends to make the investment over the next four years as part of a federal effort that could be announced as soon as later today,

The anticipated announcement comes amid President Trump's threats to impose tariffs over semiconductor chip imports.
