Ben Shelton has become the youngest American man since Andy Roddick in 2004 to reach the quarterfinals at the BNP Paribas Open.

Shelton will now face the winner of the Taylor Fritz-Jack Draper match, but only after surviving another close match against Nakashima in a Stadium 2 showdown between two rising American stars.
