Disney+ has been a great place for many of the studio’s top franchises to grow, as has been the case with both Marvel and Star Wars. However, what has worked for live-action projects hasn’t been quite as successful in animation.

Disney+ has shelved 'Tiana,' a series based on 'The Princess and the Frog,' amid a shift in thinking around long-form animated content for streaming.

Plans for Tiana, Disney's animated spin-off series based on the character from The Princess and the Frog, have been scrapped at the studio. The decision was made in an effort to cease longform streaming content for Disney+ at Walt Disney Animation Studios.
