An arbitrator has decided in favor of Meta in a case the company brought against Sarah Wynn-Williams, the former Meta employee who wrote a memoir published this week detailing alleged claims of misconduct at the company. Macmillan Publishers and its imprint that published the memoir, Flatiron Books, were also named as respondents.

An arbitrator has prevented the employee from promoting her book and disparaging the company until private arbitration concludes.

Macmillan and Flatiron Books, the imprint behind Careless People, were named in Meta’s arbitration request. But the publisher claimed that it should not have been pulled in the dispute since it was not party to Wynn-William’s employment contract.

The book by Meta's former director of global public policy was called "an ugly, detailed portrait of one of the most powerful companies in the world."

Ironically, Mark Zuckerberg's company efforts to shut down the salacious book may only give it more free publicity.
