According to Ford, a fuel injector may crack and leak fuel inside the engine compartment, leading to an under-hood fire.

The automaker says the fuel injectors inside the recalled vehicles could crack and leak inside the engine compartment. If enough liquid fuel or even fuel vapor accumulates on a hot surface, a fire could ignite underneath the hood.

Ford issued a recall on July 15 for nearly 700,000 Bronco Sport and Escape vehicles due to fuel injector cracks that could increase the risk of fire.
