Allegretto said having a slow start to the winter is not completely out of the ordinary. He estimates it happens roughly once every four years. The last time he remembers a similar early season was in 2023-2024, which saw only 25% of the typical snowpack by January.

On Christmas Eve, there will be snow and rain in the morning with highs reaching the 40s. Christmas is predicted to be sunny with highs in the low to mid-30s. So the temperatures will be cool enough and there is precipitation in the forecast, so it's possible that we could have snow around Christmas.
