Former Lions OC back on NFL coaching staff
Linehan spent five seasons as the Lions’ offensive coordinator under Jim Schwartz following his tenure as head coach of the Rams. He helped develop Matthew Stafford after the quarterback was drafted by the team in 2009 and directed an offense that ranked among the top five in the NFL in yards per game in his final three seasons.
Saints Hiring Scott Linehan To Their Offensive Coaching Staff
Over a 37-year coaching career, Linehan has been a head coach with the St. Louis Rams. He's also been an offensive coordinator for the Cowboys, Vikings, Dolphins, and Lions in the NFL and Idaho, Washington, and Louisville at the collegiate level.
While he may not be an effective head coach, he has proven to be a great assistant and the Saints believe in that as well.
Kellen Moore is adding one of his mentors to his coaching staff.
