Pope Francis, 88, slept well and ate breakfast on Wednesday morning after he was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia, according to the Vatican.

Pope Francis, who has been hospitalized since last week, was found to have pneumonia in both lungs following a CT scan on Tuesday, the Vatican said, with tests continuing to indicate “a complex picture” for one of the oldest popes in the church’s history.

"Let's all say a prayer for Pope Francis, who appears to have some serious health issues," said Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday.
