A federal judge in Louisiana has set a hearing next month to discuss his concerns that the Trump administration may have deported a 2-year-old U.S. citizen to Honduras without due process and against her family’s wishes.

The child's mother was being deported and wanted to take the girl, U.S. lawyers said. When the judge asked to speak to her, they were already in the air.

A federal judge in Louisiana said the deportation of the child to Honduras with her mother, even though her father had filed an emergency petition, appeared to be “illegal and unconstitutional.”
