NEW YORK (AP) — Gavin Newsom hosts President Donald Trump's allies on his podcast. He's pushing city officials to crack down on homeless encampments. And this week, he proposed limiting health care coverage for immigrants in the country illegally.

The state is releasing a model ordinance that cities can use as a basis for their own local anti-encampment ordinances.

Gov. Gavin Newsom's budget plan walks back his promise to provide free healthcare to undocumented immigrants, caps overtime for in-home support service workers and reduces Medi-Cal benefits for Californians.

In his budget announcement, Newsom said the state will block undocumented adults from enrolling in Medi-Cal Starting January 1.
