Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday announced that Russian and US diplomats are set to meet in Istanbul on February 27 to discuss the work of the two countries' embassies, reported TASS.

Russian and U.S. diplomats met in Turkey on Thursday for talks to resolve disputes over the work of their respective embassies in Washington and Moscow, a first test of their ability to reset wider relations and work towards ending the war in Ukraine.

"The United States raised concerns regarding access to banking and contracted services as well as the need to ensure stable and sustainable staffing levels at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow," the U.S. State Department said.

U.S. and Russian diplomats met Thursday in Istanbul, looking for ways to smooth their embassy relationships in Moscow and Washington after frequent expulsion of each other’s diplomats and three years of American opposition to Moscow’s war on Ukraine.
