The state's highest court will determine whether or not Karen Read can be retried on two of three charges her lawyers claim jurors acquitted her of.

A special prosecutor has been appointed to lead the state’s team in the upcoming re-trial of Karen Read in the death of her boyfriend.

Karen Read will face a new prosecutor when she is retried for murder in January. Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey on Wednesday announced he had appointed Hank Brennan as a special prosecutor for the case.
