The source of an explosion is still unknown as firefighters responded to a residential area in Las Cruces.

At least 1 dead and 36 others were injured, including firefighters and 1 civilian with serious injuries, after a fire and explosion at a Staten Island shipyard, with the cops investigating the cause.

A fire broke out at Chalmette Refining Friday afternoon after residents reported hearing a large explosion, according to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office. The fire was under control as of around 2 p.m., and no injuries were reported, John Rahaim, director of St. Bernard Homeland Security, said.
