West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, announcing that the state would cut ties with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) due to their unilateral water release leading to floods in south Bengal. She urged for immediate central funds to address the extensive flood damage and management needs.

Ahead of the Haryana Assembly elections on October 5, the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) and Azad Samaj Party (ASP) released their third set of candidates on Wednesday. The list includes 18 fresh candidates, with 15 from JJP and three from ASP.
