A Dairy Queen franchise owner is closing down 25 locations in Texas and auctioning off equipment and seating from 24 of those locations. Although Dairy Queen is a popular brand in Texas and nationwide, the closures come as other fast-food chains, such as Red Lobster, have downsized due to changing consumer habits.

Certain childhood memories are just unforgettable and with dozens of Dairy Queen locations closing in Texas, some of those thoughts came flooding back for several members of our KPRC 2 team.

Even after the closings, Texas will still be home to the most Dairy Queens out of all states. HOUSTON — More than two dozen Texas Dairy Queen restaurants are closing around the state, including some in the Houston area.
