Disney has axed a series meant for Disney+ called "Tiana" spun off from its 2009 animated film "The Princess and the Frog," one that would have featured the return of the original film's voice actress Anika Noni Rose,

First announced in 2020, the Disney+ show was envisioned as a musical featuring Anika Noni Rose reprising her role as Tiana, Disney's first Black princess, from 'The Princess and the Frog.'

Plans for Tiana, Disney's animated spin-off series based on the character from The Princess and the Frog, have been scrapped at the studio. The decision was made in an effort to cease longform streaming content for Disney+ at Walt Disney Animation Studios.
