The makers of a film based on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's life have approached the Bombay High Court, alleging undue delay by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in issuing a certificate for the movie titled "Ajay: The Untold Story of a Yogi."

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday asked the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to respond to a petition filed by the makers of a film reportedly based on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's life.

Mohit Suri's romantic drama, Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has faced censorship from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Required edits included the removal of 10 seconds of sensual content.

The Untold Story of a Yogi’ have claimed that the CBFC has indulged in ‘unreasonable, unexplained and arbitrary’ delay in processing the application for the film.

The filmmakers claim that the CBFC has demanded a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) of Uttar Pradesh.

Cosmos Entertainment had moved the High Court alleging delay by CBFC in certifying the film. Notably, Suresh Gopi, a BJP politician and Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, is starring in the movie.

The Kerala High Court lawyer had made the petition after observing that the Central Board of Film Certification's website did not have a list of the names of all the gods and goddesses. The request co
