The exit of Avelo Airlines from Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County in August brings with it gaps in markets that Santa Rosa airport officials are working to fill. Outreach is underway to Alaska Airlines about picking up the Boise and Palm Springs flights, and to Delta Air Lines about flights to Salt Lake City, according to Airport Manager Jon Stout.

The airline stated the decision is a result of its plans to close its base operations in Burbank. Avelo Airlines announced Monday it will exit Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport altogether, effective Aug. 11.
